An artisan client with a penchant for Egyptian iconography has created a unique landscape ornament at his home in mid Wales.
Having purchased one of ORNAMENTI’s Landscape Obelisks, the client skilfully carved an Egyptian inscription into one side of the tapering natural limestone design.
The Egyptian hieroglyphic character on the pedestal base reads “akhet” which, loosely translated, means horizon. This is a reference to the position of the rising sun between the two hills to which this obelisk is aligned. The sunrise alignment is to the client’s birthday.
The photographs here show various stages during the installation of the obelisk in this private garden, right through to the completed project with gold leaf on the pyramidion at the very top of the obelisk.
